I quite like Painted Silos. I will ride hundreds of kilometres to see one and where possible, take a photo of my bike in front of them. It is not always possible to do get the bike in front of the silos. I do have some misgivings about the iconography on some silos which I will attempt to explain at some point.
I first got into Painted Silos when I was travelling around Australia in 2021. I think the first one I encountered on this trip was the Three Moon Creek Silos. I managed to take a very nice snap there that when I posted it to the ‘silo group’ on Facebook it received many likes. So this kind of got me started on collecting silos pictures. Here are some I have come across in my travels so far. I have only scratched the surface of the Australian Silo Art Trail and will add to this collection as time goes by.
